The energy of tenderness has the power to transform anger, jealousy, sadness, and despair. When we are stuck in these feelings it is very difficult to see a way out. When these difficult feelings arise within us, most of us deeply struggle within our painful perspective. Our mind almost always first demands that our external circumstances change in accordance with our egoic desires, in order for us to heal and let go.
But we do not always have the luxury to get what we want externally. Often life does not change, and because of this most of us stay angry at our current circumstances.
We do have a choice, though. We can, in any moment become tender with our feelings. We can meet ourselves with love, we can open to our pain in a tender and gentle way. As we do so, our painful emotions naturally release and we begin to experience the joy of our being again, whether or not life’s circumstances have actually changed. You see our natural state is one of joy, yet as long as our painful emotions cover this joy, we suffer. But through working with our pain and meeting it with compassion, we heal, release or transform our pain and we are left with our own goodness, joy and compassion.
