When storms of emotion come forward the normal reaction is to run, avoid or fight with what is here. Most of us spend our entire lives in this dance of reactivity, but it seems to only lead to more pain for us and those around us.
A different approach is for us to remain radically open and loving with whatever arises within us and around us. As we stay open and embrace life; as we stay open and embrace our pain, our sadness, our hurt, or that of our friends, partners and family – everything changes. We step into love fearlessly. Instead of doing the normal human response which is to run, avoid or fight, can we embrace what is here? If we want to learn how to love in this world, we have to learn to be fearless with emotions, both ours and the emotions of others. To be fearless we cannot be afraid of being overwhelmed by feeling, but must instead embrace all of life with absolute love.
